Severus Snape, Jedi Master Logospilgrim I shall draw comparisons between Professor Snape and Yoda, thereby illustrating how Snape taught Harry Potter to master his emotions, but most of all to conquer his fear and the root of all fear, the ego. I shall demonstrate how Snape himself went through that same process, and learned to let go; how only the emptied heart is capable of receiving and giving Love, which is the source of peace and stability. Voldemort had no inner space left for peace: his heart was as cluttered as the Room of Hidden Things. Even though Snape was juggling many secrets, his heart was spacious because he was doing nothing for himself. It was not difficult for him to fool Voldemort, who was already fooled. Snape's inner emptiness was full of light, a light that Voldemort did not believe in and therefore could not discern. Like Pontius Pilate, the Dark Lord could only say, “What is truth?” Logospilgrim is a small lay monastic who likes to write about Professor Severus Snape, redemption and mysticism; she is the author of several books, all of which are available on her website, logospilgrim.com (certain titles can also be purchased on amazon.com). She has spoken at a number of Harry Potter conventions, including Witching Hour, Lumos, Prophecy and Convention Alley. She has a degree in Religious Studies and enjoys collecting curiosities. She may be somewhat of a curiosity herself. When she is not writing, she is making rosaries. She is also known as the quiet professor.
