Code of Conduct

Badge responsibility

All attendees MUST wear and/or carry their badges when attending any Infinitus event. If you have purchased a ticket to any extra-fee Infinitus  event, we may not be able to provide a replacement if yours is lost. If your badge is lost, or your badge or a ticket are damaged, please bring it to the Registration Desk as soon as possible so we can provide you with a replacement.

Respect hotel regulations

Please maintain quiet in the hallways after 11 p.m., avoid late night wild parties in the rooms, don't damage hotel furnishings, and note that theft, shoplifting, physical violence, or other violations of the law will be prosecuted to the extent permissible by law.

Respect the rights of other guests at the hotel

Between the hours of 11 p.m. and 8 a.m., please keep the noise level down in the hallways and hotel rooms. The common room will be open late, and activities will be taking place throughout the night on some nights, so there are definitely places to congregate outside hotel rooms. Leave hallways and doorways clear, and respect the hotel's security team. If there are any issues, please contact one of the event chairs or go to the registration or Meet & Greet desk immediately and someone will help you.

Be nice to the staff - they're doing the best they can

All the Infinitus staff members are volunteers. They're giving their time to put this event on for all of us to learn and have fun. If there is an issue with a staff member's instructions or information, please contact  volunteers@infinitus2010.org or visit the Registration Desk. Patience and politeness work wonders in smoothing the little wrinkles that appear at the best-regulated conventions. Arguing and getting mad, naturally, do not.

Leave your weapons at home

While costume weaponry is welcome at the convention, leave your real weapons at home. Don't risk having it confiscated or having to leave the convention. Trust us, you can enjoy the con without them. While wands are definitely weapons in the wizarding world, as long as your wand is "inactive" it is welcome at Infinitus .

Internet Policy

Any user that utilizes the wifi or kiosks provided in the Common Room or elsewhere, or participates in any interactive programming aspect of any session or activity at Infinitus  agrees that he or she will not interfere with or disrupt any other user's use of the services, servers or networks used by HPEF, or disobey any requirements, procedures, policies or regulations of networks connected to the HPEF Sites. No user shall submit, upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any material that contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer or hardware or telecommunications equipment.

Please do not spend more than ten minutes on the internet kiosk if others are waiting; please do not use more than your fair share of the wifi resources.

Photography Policy

Please note that photographs may be taken, and audio and/or video recordings are frequently made in convention areas. Your image and likeness may appear in those recordings or photographs. Any member of any panel, or any presenter, may request that no recordings be made at, and/or no photographs and/or video be taken at, a specific panel, and it is the obligation of those attending said presentation to honor such a request; any individual may ask that no photographs and/or video of his or her face be taken and it is the obligation of the photographer/videographer to honor such a request.

INFINITUS does not tolerate harassment or violence against anyone...

...including other attendees, vendors, speakers and staff. Please notify a member of the Infinitus Security Team regarding behavior that is abusive, insulting, intimidating, bothersome, or acting in an unsafe or illegal manner. HPEF reserves the right to revoke tickets and/or the badge required for attendance at Infinitus without refund, in case of violation of this Code of Conduct.

Thanks to YaoiCon for allowing us to incorporate some of their language into this Code. For more information about fan gathering codes of conduct, visit the Con Anti-Harassment Project.
