About Infinitus 2010

Infinitus, the seventh event by HPEF, will take place July 15-18 ,2010 in Orlando, Florida – home to the all-new "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" only at Universal’s Islands of Adventure® .

As always, registrants can expect our usual strong and diverse program offerings covering topics from Alchemy to Zoology and every subject in between. Our unique, once-in-a-lifetime agenda will also include "Night of a Thousand Wizards" after park close on July 16 at the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter", which will give our attendees exclusive access to explore and immerse themselves in the wizarding world as nobody has before.

Most of the programming and events will take place at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando®   only a 10-minute boat-ride or 12-minute walk from Islands of Adventure, home to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Registrants staying at any of the three Universal Orlando® Resort  hotels will get to utilize special perks, including early-morning admission to  Islands of Adventure including the WWoHP, Express Passes that will allow quicker access to many rides, including the Dragon Challenge™ and Flight of the Hippogriff,™ and the chance to stay in a room with a view of Hogwarts.

Infinitus starts on Thursday at noon with Wizard Chess, a choreographed performance on the field behind the hotel function lawn outside the conference area, then leads into the afternoon with our Welcoming Feast, scheduled to begin at 1:30 PM at the Royal Pacific. Quidditch, as well as Formal and Informal programming, start that afternoon, and the day is rounded off with organized meet-ups, Wizard Rock concerts, activities in the Common Room and Quidditch If you wish to organize a meet-up on this or any day (i.e. for your fandom group) please contact heidi@Infinitus2010.org.

Also, from Thursday morning on, you'll be able to visit the Vendor Room, Art Gallery and Common Room, home to our Fandom Museum. Bring a photo, ticket stub, souvenir or another small or flat item to donate to the Museum, and we'll find a place for it on the wall. You can also submit fanart - drawings, sculpture, costumes, crafts, games, or anything in two- or three-dimensions - for our gallery; if you'd like to see your magically creative works hanging in our gallery, you can find more information here.

On Thursday we are also hosting two special, creative experiences - an amazing writing workshop with best-selling YA novelist Joyce Sweeney from 8 AM until 1:30 PM on Thursday, which includes continental breakfast, and is priced at $60, and the Fandom Craft Faire in the evening where creative fans who make less than $5,000 annually from their craft sales can showcase and/or sell their works. If you'd like to reserve a table at the Faire, you can add it to your registration for $25; tables must be reserved by June 30.

Don't forget the Wizard Rock concerts including performances from The Remus Lupins, Whomping Willows, House of Black, Ministry of Magic and more; learn more here.

If you have a Friday and/or Saturday-only registration,  you can still enjoy all the events and activities on Thursday as well.

Friday begins with a continental breakfast for Merlin's Circle registrants, and Formal Programming begins at nine o'clock, then continues until five thirty, with a break for lunch from noon until one thirty. Our keynote speaker for the Friday luncheon will be announced in April. Also MuggleCast will be doing a  live podcast from the park d

The Kids' Programming Track - capped at 50 kids - will be open on Friday, as well as Saturday. Learn more at our Kids' Track page.

On Friday afternoon, both Lena Gabrielle's The Final Battle (the sequel to Fair Fortune) and Harvey Putter & the Ridiculous Premise will have their world premiere.

Later on Friday evening, the celebration will move to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter for Night of a Thousand Wizards, an exclusive event in the Park just for Infinitus attendees. Admission to NoaTW is not included with any Infinitus registration; all staff, volunteers and registrants must purchase a ticket to attend. Night of a Thousand Wizards and other Park admission ticket information and prices are available here. Only Infinitus registrants can purchase tickets to NoaTW; however, anyone with any type of Infinitus registration, be it a Child Reg, Single-Day, Full or Merlin's Circle, will be able to purchase one ticket to the park event, which we are calling Night of a Thousand Wizards.

On Saturday, programming will start at 10 a.m. and go until 6 p.m. (we realize that's early after Friday night but there's so much to do we just had to fit it all in). Again, Merlin's Circle registrants can enjoy a continental breakfast, including coffee and tea.

Pottercast will be hosting a live podcast in the Java Room during the 90 minute lunch break on Saturday; you can bring a brown bag lunch to the presentation and enjoy some free coffee at the same time.

Also at noon, Saturday's Keynote Lunch speaker will be one of the brilliant minds behind Electronic Arts' BrightLight Studios Harry Potter games; you can add the lunch by modifying your registration or when you register, and the price is $55.

The kids' track will again take place on Saturday, as will Quidditch in the afternoon.

Saturday night, enjoy the Very Potter Musical Sequel Premiere with the Billboard-charting Team StarKid, join Chris Rankin and Christian Coulson for dessert, then meet up with everyone at the Ball, which will go into the wee hours. Plus, there's more Wizard Rock after the ball, at the Midnight Comedy Slam, which starts at 12:30 AM (technically Sunday morning).

Sunday morning is your chance to say farewell for now to friends old and new. The Leaving Feast begins at 10:30, and we'll start the charity auction of Infinitus memorabilia, fanartistry and more at about 11:00. As always, proceeds will go to charities, including Kids Need to Read and the HP Alliance.

Discounted tickets to both Universal Orlando theme parks are on sale via the Infinitus website - no theme park tickets are included with your Infinitus registration, and you cannot get into any Infinitus programming or events with theme park tickets (although the vendor room and gallery will be open to the general public at select times, including all of the open hours on Thursday).

Still to be added to the finalized schedule are meet-ups, fan films, the vidding show and a few more surprises. Keep your eye on this page, or the following sites, for updates and information:
